Ooops! Read your question and see if you can spot what you left out.
That's right. The size of the gas tank ... how much it holds.
If you drive 2,000 miles and you get 19 miles per gallon, then you use
2,000/19 = 105.263 gallons
on the trip. How many times will you need to fill the tank ? Depends on how much
it holds.
-- If it holds 106 gallons and you start out full, then you never have to add
any gas at all.
-- But if it only holds 1 gallon, then you'll have to gas up 106 times during
the trip.
22 miles in City. Never bother to note it for freeway driving.
my 3.1 gets about 34 mpg on open highway, about 27 in city driving.
driving it sensibily you will get 35 to 40 mpg
2000 miles at 27 miles per gallon = 2000/27 gallons. 2000/27 gallons at 3.50 per gallon = 2000/27 * 3.50 units of currency = 259.26 units
$280 - 2000 miles divided by 20 (# of mpg) = 100 gallons of gas needed. 100 times 2.80 (cost of each gallon) = $280 total.
Depends on engine and driving habits. 8-12 city, 15-18 hwy
My 2000 with about 150,000 miles gets around 11 miles to the gallon jst driving around town.
I think something is wrong with my car as the mpg is about 25 for city driving. I do feel this is quite low. What do you think?
2000 miles @ 25mpg = 80 gallons @ 3.00 a gallon is 240.00
For a 2000 Lincoln Town Car : ( 15 city / 21 highway , miles per U.S. gallon )
$533.33
Depends on the model
