36 inches = 1 yard

(1 yard long) x (1 yard wide) = exactly 1 square yard.

You probably need a bit more to sew hems, make pleats, extend past the glass, etc.

What size curtains do you need to cover a window that is 100 inches wide and 46 inches long?

You need each individual curtain to be at least 54 inches wide and 46 inches long. (I assume you require two curtains, one for each side of the window). However a curtain up to 75 inches wide will still work.

How many yards of fabric do you need to make curtains for a 33 inches x 63.5 inches?

It depends on a lot of information that you haven't provided. So, I will make some assumptions and you can see how I calculate it and make any changes you need if my assumptions are wrong. Assumptions: 1)Your window is 33 inches wide by 63.5 inches tall? 2)The width of your fabric is too short to go the long way on your curtains. 3) If you position the fabric with the yardage you buy going up and down (vertically), the pattern on the fabric will be upright. 3)You want to make your curtains, so when they open the entire window is exposed. That means that you must place your curtain rod a good 6 inches beyond either edge of your window trim. 4) When you make your curtains, you want to gather the top in folds. This means you need 1 1/2 times the actual width of the curtain rod. So... you need 33 inches plus 6 inches plus 6 inches (for the sides) = 45 inches total width after you gather the tops in folds & a small 1" hem on each side. And ... you need 1 1/2 times that or 66.5 inches across the top for both curtains or 33.25 inches across the top for one curtain (2 per window ... they open in the middle, right?) You should add 2 more inches for a small hem on each side of the curtain, so 35.25 So... we will also assume that the width of the fabric you are buying is wide enough for one curtain the short way on the window. Therefore, we will need to buy yardage for the long length of the window plus a bit to go below the window plus for hems at the top and bottom times 2. So... yardage to buy 63.5 + 10 inches for a double fold (5") at the top + 3" hem at the bottom + 4" extra for the curtain to go below the window = 70.5 inches And you need two curtains for a window so, times 2 = 141 inches or about 12 feet or 4 yards. ANSWER: 4 yards

Make a Valance Without Sewing a Stitch?

A valance is a short, decorative curtain piece hung along the top of a window's curtain rod to add a touch of style and flair. Even without sewing, you can design and create a customized window valance for any one of the windows in your home with these easy steps. Carefully determine measurements for the project. No design project is ever successful without careful planning and measurement. Measure the width of your window. Write this measurement down for future reference. Then decide on the length of your valance. Ideally, it should be more than 15 inches long (starting at the curtain rod), but it can be made to be longer if you desire, especially if your window is very wide. A wide window will look best with a slightly longer valance. If you desire a gathered look, multiply the window width by 2.5. If you are using a particularly sheer fabric, multiply the window width by 3 to 4. For a valance that hangs straight down from the curtain rod without any gathering, simply measure the fabric to precisely match the width of the drapes to be hung from the window. Add 2 inches of width to each valance panel you measure. This will provide adequate room for hems. Cut along the lines you have determined with your measurements. Then measure the length you have determined onto the fabric and double this measurement, as your valance will be made by folding the fabric in half toward the end of the process. Add 2 inches here as well and cut. Turn the entire piece of fabric over so all hems face down. Pick up the bottom of the fabric and fold it up to the top so that all edges meet. Use iron-on tape or a glue gun to create 1-inch hems along each side of the valance. Do the same for the other hems. After creating your hems, allow them to completely cool and dry. Turn the fabric right-side out so that all hems are left facing inside. Measure the width of your curtain rod (usually about 1.5 to 2.5 inches) and create a pocket hem for the rod to slide through. You can use the iron-on tape or glue gun for this as well. Slide in the rod and hang.

What is the size of a standard shower curtain rod?

A standard shower curtain rod is approximately 5-feet long to fit a standard tub size of 60-inches in length. Most shower curtain rods have an adjustable size of 57-inches to 61-inches but some are longer to accommodate a 6-foot long tub.

How far from the floor should a shower curtain hang?

Long enough so people cant see your dick Alternatively, it should hang 3-4 inches below the edge of a tub or a couple of inches longer than the step of a walk in shower. If the shower base has a lip to stop the curtain blowing out, the curtain should be set to hang in contact with this by at least 50mm/2 inches. However, its important for the curtain to be clear of the floor of the shower to be able to dry properly. Allow at least a couple of centimetres for a little stretch in the fabric.
