Can you cut into cast iron soil pipe with plastic soil pipe?

You can put up to a 2 inch pipe into a 4 inch. If you are putting 4 inch to 4 inch, either take out a section of the cast and put the PVC in or cut out a section and connect the PVC to the cast with rubber sleeves meant for this. You can use a saddle clamp for the 2 inch. It is a half round piece of PVC with a 2 inch connection in it. It is held on with two U bolts that go around the cast pipe. Put it where you need it and mark the 2 inch hole on the cast. Drill a series of 1/8 inch holes around this circle. when you get them all drilled, you can break out the plug. Try to keep it from falling into the cast pipe. Put the saddle clamp on and connect the PVC pipe as needed. Seal the saddle clamp to the cast pipe with plumbers putty.

How do you boil water in a two inch PVC pipe tested at two-hundred-eighty pounds per square inch at seventy-eight degrees Fahrenheit?

How to Boil Water in PVC Pipe I have been building wood steaming boilers, not PVC steam boxes, for about 2-1/2 years now and using PVC to boil the water in and produce steam. I use sch. 40 PVC and the correct cleaner and cement to go with it. PVC is rated at a much lower than it will really handle. I have run this steaming system for more that 12 hours at a time without any problems and complete safety. If you want more info about this, contact: woodsteamingsystems@yahoo.com. Ernie

How much does water weigh in 3 PVC pipe?

No more than 92 tons DEPENDING on the density of the water. Colder water weighs more. After 90 Tons of weight, care has to be taken with supports. A Better Question would have been How much water /weight would a 3" PVC SCHEDULE 40 pipe 2 ft long hold / weigh SO I am guessing your asking about a mile and a half long 3" pipe SCHEDULE 80

How do you change PVC valve on 2003 Ford Taurus?

The PVC on a 2003 Ford Taurus 6cyl. Duratec engine. I made a tool out of a 3/4 inch PVC plastic pipe i got from Home Depot. I took the new PVC car part and matched it up with the end of the square plastic part by filing out the corners of the pipe and fitting it over the end of the sguare part of the PVC car part. I did this to be able to reach the old PVC so it could be turned 1/2 to the left to get the old PVC car part out.

Why PVC pipes are used nowadays instead of iron pipes?

There are different types of pipes for different types of applications. Every situation has a set of the specific needs to be addressed for that project and the type of pipe to be used. I prefer to use a PVC pipe underground for a water main for the following reasons in California. 1- PVC pipe resists corrosion from the soil it is placed in and will not rust or deteriorate. 2-PVC pipe is much less expensive than copper pipe to install and i can save homeowners money on material costs. 3-PVC resists scale and hard water build up a little better than metal pipe. 4- PVC pipe is easier to install and can bend without the use of fittings for subtle turns or angles. 5-The water will not wear or weaken the PVC pipe. Copper although slowly will weaken with the chlorine and other chemicals found in our water. 6-PVC is not effected by electrolysis unlike copper.
