Motutapu is a small island off the coast of New Zealand. During the war the island was intended for use by the US Navy and many buildings were added to the island.
Motutapu Island is a Recreation Reserve off the Coast of New Zealand, outside of Auckland. You can only get there by boat. There is one campground on the island, reservations have to be made through the Visitor's Center, Dept of Conservation. So if you enjoy hiking, visiting unique islands, and don't mind camping, Motutapu Island may be a very good place to stay.
