A conventional voltmeter displays 0.707 of the peak voltage when it measures AC.
In doing so, it displays the RMS value of the measured voltage IF the measured voltage is a sinusoid.
If the measured voltage is not a sinusoid, then its peak value is 1.414 times the displayed number, and
you have to calculate the RMS based on the waveform.
The Ammeter XD
Since voltage is electrical potential difference, to measure the voltage across a component, you place the voltmeter across, or in parallel with, the component.
A voltmeter.
You cant.
A voltmeter would measure the voltage. If you measure the voltage drop over a known low resistance you get a kinda-sorta idea of the power available.
A voltmeter measures voltage in volts.

voltage in units of volts
the purpose of a voltmeter is used to measure voltage in a circuit
Use a voltmeter with a high input impedance and measure at the source the voltage.
