Hi,remove engine,oil pan,flywheel,main bearings,big end bearings and all associated parts.Quite fannkly if u have to ask this question my friend,you should not be attempting this job.Get a mechanic to help.Way too big a job for someone with no experience.
It is inside the engine, on the front of the crankshaft.

The crankshaft position sensor on a 1998 3.0 dodge caravan is located on the top of the bellhousing towards the firewall.
Its situated in the sump of the engine It is on the nose of the crankshaft.
The engine and transmission are removed out the bottom as an assembly.

You have to remove the drivebelt accessories and then remove the timing covers and take out the timing belt or chain. Basically you have to tear the side of the engine apart to get it out. It's a good day or two of work.
The answer is yes.
It is on the firewall side on the of the transmission close to the engine about half way up.
You have to remove the serpentine belt and drivebelt accessories then the passenger side engine mount, remove the timing cover, remove the timing belt, and the crankshaft sprocket to access the seal. It's about a day and a half of work.
