Answer

Career Fairs are very useful in finding the right career for you. At one I went to, there were hundreds of small booths set up for people looking for new careers and for people wanting to start a career. They have all the answers you could possibly want answers to. When you leave, there should be little doubt as to what you want to do in life.

Career Fairs?

Career fairs offer job applicants an opportunity to talk to representatives from various companies about job openings and career options. Career fairs may be designed around a central theme such as a medical career fairs or other industries. These events can be a helpful too for those looking for a job, seeking a career change or looking for new opportunities. Before attending a career fair it helps to learn which companies will be present in advance. This can help you to better plan how to tailor your resume for optimal results. Dress appropriately for the type of career fair. Often this is a business casual look but some fairs may tolerate a more casual outfit. A good attitude and polite demeanor is expected when talking to recruiters. Recruiters can answer most all questions about the company so bring a pen and paper to take notes as needed as well as bring multiple copies of your resume to hand them out. Business cards may also be useful to hand out in addition to resumes. When talking to recruiters, be concise and prepare a few statements about yourself, job skills and the type of position you are interested in. Because recruiters have many people to talk to throughout the day, keep it short and take care not to take up too much time. Often recruiters will ask questions about previous job experience and goals for future employment. Follow up any offers or contacts made at the career fair and always be courteous. Even if the positions are not what you had in mind, be polite even if you decline further information. Recruiters will seldom be able to offer a job directly at a career fair as their task is to make contacts and to collect resumes as necessary. Often this can lead to follow up calls for more information or to schedule a more formal interview. Attending a career fair can lead to networking opportunities and help form good working relationships.
