let's say you have four numbers: 2, 4, 7, and 9

you add these numbers up...which is 22....then you divide by the amount of numbers you added which is 4.....

22 divided by 4 = 5.5 add everything up and divide by the numbers added example: add 5,6,4,9,1 equals to 25 5 numbers divide 5 into 25 and that's the mean (average)
