You wouldn't. if it was something like 15(X-95) then you could use the distrubutive property but that is just a multiplication problem

A polynomial of degree zero is a constant term

The grouping method of factoring can still be used when only some of the terms share a common factor A True B False

The sum or difference of p and q is the of the x-term in the trinomial

How do you do the distributive property?

An example of how to use the distributive property: If you have 6x(5+4) you multiply 6x by 5 and get 30x. Then you multiply 6x by 4 and get 24x and then you would have 30x+24x which = 54x

How do you multiply using the Distributive Property?

The distributive property of multiplication deals with multiplying across a set of parenthesis. An example of this property would be, x(y+z) = xy + xz.

Would you Explain the distributive property?

The distributive property is a property for multiplying with parentheses. It states that a(b+c)=ab+ac. The means that 3(x+2)=3x+6, for example. Basically, the distributive property says you must multiply everything within the parentheses by the number outside the parentheses.

What is distributative property in math?

the distributive property is something like 4(3+8) you would multiply 4 times 3+ 4 times 8

Do you always use the property of distribution when multiplying monomials and polynomials Explain why or why not In what situations would distribution become important?

The answer to your question is a yes. The Distributive property is a property, which is used to multiply a term and two or more terms inside the parentheses.

Can distributive be an associative property?

No, because then there would be no need to call them by different names.

How would you write 15y 3x as an expression using Distributive Property?

4y

How do you write 32x9 in distributive peoperty?

The distributive property for multiplication states that when finding the product of a number and two or more numbers added in parentheses, you can multiply each number inside the parentheses by the number outside and add the products together. One way to write 32 * 9 according to the distributive property would be 32 * (6 + 3) or 32 * 6 + 32 * 3.

How do you use the distributive property on 15x plus 20?

The distributive property states that a(b + c) = ab + ac. This only works in your case if you meant to write 15(x + 20). That would equal 15x + 300.

What is the distributave property?

The distributive property is where you will "distribute" a term outside of a set of grouping symbols into all the terms within the set of grouping symbols. For example, to distribute 6(x+3), you would multiply 6 by x and by 3, to get 6x + 18. The distributive property is usually the property used most often to solve for variables in linear equations. For example, in the linear equation, 3(x+2)=4+x, you would have to distribute the 3, since x and 2 are not like terms.

Can the distributive property be used to solve 4 times 30?

Yes, but it would be a pointless thing to do. The associative property is much more appropriate.

Explain how do use distributive property to find an expression that is equivalent to 20+16?

First, I would find that the GCF of 20 and 16 is 4. Then, I would divide both 20 and 16 by 4. Last, I would use the distributive property to write the sum as 4(5 + 4).

How would you use the distributive property on 7 x 400?

You don't for that problem. Simply multiply for that. Distributive property is useful when there are variables in the equation. For example, 4(x + 3) would simplify to 4x + 12, since both of the numbers in the parentheses are being multiplied by 3. Parentheses are just another way of saying the multiplying sign. So 4(5) is equal to 4 * 5. Answer by Edward Lee

Why is the distributive property needed to solve algebraic equations?

because it tells you that you need to do distribute that number to all the other numbers. if you didnt use it your would come out with the wrong answer... not all the time but in most cases your answer will be incorrect if you do not use the distributive property

Is 7 divided by x equals x divided by 7 a commutative property associative property distributive property or none of these the equation is incorrect?

no the equation is not correct, the only way it would be correct is if x=7 which would be a commutative property

Can you use subtraction with the distributive property?

Wrong! See below. No, you cannot use the distributive property for subtraction. Let's say that your expression is: (5 + 4) - 3 We know that parentheses must be handled first, so we know that the correct answer is: (5 + 4) - 3 = 9 - 3 = 6. But let's say that you tried to use the distributive propertyand applied "- 3" to each term in the parentheses. You would get: (5 + 4) - 3 = (5 - 3) + (4 - 3) = 3 In fact, you would have subtracted not 3, but 6! * * * * * All very true except that this is the associative property - not distributive The distributive property, which IS valid, gives a*(b - c) = a*b - a*c

What does x equal in x 12x-1?

Why is the distributive property important in solving equations?

Because without it, the foundations of mathematics would crumble down at your feet. So believe it, mothafawka.

How do you simplify expressions using distributive property?

You would distribute the numbers for example 5(4+5) you would go 5*4 + 5*5and you get the answer which is 45.

How can you find 37x9 using the distributive property?

you would go: (30x9) + (7x9) = 270 + 63 = 333 which is the same as if you typed 37x9 into the calculator and got 333!

What is a distributive property equation that equals 18?

2(x + 3) = 18 or did you mean that solution would be x = 18? then 2(x + 3) = 42

Is 33 plus 0 33 a distributive property?

Unfortunately, the browser used by Answers.com for posting questions is incapable of accepting mathematical symbols. This means that we cannot see the mathematically critical parts of the question. We are, therefore unable to determine what exactly the question is about and so cannot give a proper answer to your question. However, it would appear that this is NOT an example of the distributive property but, instead, the identity property of 0 with respect to addition. Please edit your question to include words for symbols and resubmit.

What is distrubitive property?

it is a math property where you multiply the first number by the number inside the ( ). for example: 5(6+2) would end up being 30+10 because you multiply each by 5. then you simplify. your answer would be 40 :) hope i helped !

What property of equality would be used to solve the equation -3x equals 252?
