You can't tell the perimeter from knowing the area.

There are an infinite number of rectangles with different dimensions that all have the same area.

Here are a few examples.

1 x 176 . . . perimeter = 354

2 x 88 . . . perimeter = 180

4 x 44 . . . perimeter = 96

8 x 22 . . . perimeter = 60

16 x 11 . . . perimeter = 54

13.266 x 13.266 . . . perimeter = 53.066

All of these have an area of 176, but they all have different perimeters.

The last one on the list is a square. That's the rectangle with the shortest possible perimeter

that has the area you want.

The perimeter of this square is 53.066. You can make a rectangle with any perimeter

more than that, and an area of 176.
