If the partner you are with becomes easily "offended" by you trying to understand their actions...probably not a good sign.
We all have narcissistic defenses which prevent us from squarely confronting the full truth about ourselves and our actions.
But if the denial is all-encompassing, persistent, and aggressive, you may be on to something.
