That depends on the pressure inside the container.

You can cram 1 lb of helium into any container, as small as you want. On the other hand,

it'll always spread out and fill any container you put it in, no matter how large.

So if you want to know how much volume a sample of helium will fill, you have to specify

the pressure.

By the way ... the temperature also affects the pressure of a gas, so you have to specify

the temperature too.
