Lay a level or other straightedge across the table rails diagonally at a corner. Use a rule to measure from the bottom of the level to the floor. Then measure from the bottom of the level to the playing surface, and subtract this number from the first measurement. This gives you the distance from the playing surface to the bottom of the table leg. This distance is required to be between 29 and 1/4 inches and 30 and 1/4 inches for a regulation table.
