Bill is one of Jethro's hero's because Bill would do anything for Jethro. Bill is Jethro's favorite brother and he's gentle, silent, and thoughtful. Shadrach is one of Jethro's hero's because he teaches him to read the newspaper and books. Then Shadrach joined the Union (the north) to fight in the Civil War. He seriously injured, and went to the hospital. He survived his injures and Jenny visited him in Washington with Ross Milton. Jenny got married to Shad and becomes Jethro's brother. I think he is Jethro's hero because he promised to get him into a good college. He also promised to take care of Ma and Pa while he's gone.
