Is the opposite of an integer an integer?

yes. the opposite of a positive integer is the same except negative and vice versa ( ex: the opposite integer of -6 is 6. if you multiply them, it equals zero)

What are the prime factors of 51?

51 = 3*17, which is the prime factorization. Thus, the prime factors of 51 are 3 and 17. Prime factors are factors that are prime. (They don't have any factors themselves except for 1 and themselves.)3 x 17

What is the difference between a factor string and prime factorization?

A factor string consists of any factors (except 1) that multiply to equal the number. Prime factorization consists of only prime numbers that multiply to equal the number. In the case where the factors of the original number consists only of primes, there is no difference.

Are all whole numbers positive numbers?

Yes, EXCEPT for the number 0. It is a whole number but is not positive or negative. Real Numbers - Everything I. Rational Numbers- Any number except for non terminating decimals A. Integers- Any negative or positive number...not a decimal1. Whole Numbers- Any positive integer INCLUDING ZEROa. Natural Numbers- Any positive integer (NOT INCLUDING ZERO) The answer is not entirely correct, Whole numbers are numbers without a fractional part or decimal point. Therefore whole numbers can be negative as well as positive. -2 is a whole number but is not positive. There are a number of different interpretations for whole numbers, from non-negative integers, positive integers and all integers (which includes negative integers)

Proper factors are like regular factors except they don't include one and the number itself.

Is the negative square root of 9 rational irrational a whole number or an integer?

It is all of them except for irrational.

Is negative nine a natural integer irrational rational real or whole number?

It is all of the except irrational.

Factorization of 91?

What would be an example of a sentence using the word integer?

Here are a few: An integer is a counting number, or a whole number. If you have a negative counting number, zero, or a positive counting number, you have an integer, and any integer will be a member of one of those three sets of numbers. Zero is the only integer that is neither positive or negative. Each integer (except zero) has a compliment with an opposite sign.

Characteristics of numbers and prime factorization?

Each number is either itself a prime number, or it can be separated into smaller prime numbers. A prime number is a number that has no smaller factors. Factorization into prime factors is unique, except for the order of the factors.

Is there a number which has no factors?

A prime numbers has no positive integer factors except itself and 1. The number 1 has only itself as a factor. The number 0 has no factors at all.

Whats the greatest common factor of 9 and 112?

The prime factorization of 9 is 3*3. The prime factorization of 112 is 2*2*2*2*7. Therefore, they have no common factors, except for 1.

What times what is seventy one in math?

1 x 71, 2 x 30.5, etc. 71 is a prime number; that means it doesn't have integer factors (except for the trivial factors 1 and 71).
