yes, negative numbers are always less than zero, and positive numbers are always more. For instance:

-6<-5<-4<-3<-2<-1<0<1<2<3<4<5<6

inversely:

6>5>4>3>2>1>0>-1>-2>-3>-4>-5>-6

in which < means "less than" and > means "greater than"

If you are using 6 as an integer, it is greater than the number zero. But 6 can be an alphanumeric, with no particular significance to its numberic value. For example, if you lived at 6 Elmwood Street, that six would never be used mathematically as an integer. In that case, comparing 0 and 6 would be like comparing apples and Oranges.
