No.
Latitude (the north/south measurement) begins at the equator.
So 50 degrees north is 50 degrees from the equator,
and 40 degrees south is 40 degrees from the equator.
Now can you tell which one is closer to the equator ?
no 40 degrees is closer to 0 degrees or the equater than 80 degrees
No. The latitudes are measured beginning at the equator,
so 60 is farther from it than 50 is.
Hey mann uh im sittin here in summer school and this is one of the questions and i found the answer man its uh 50 degrees south man...its way closer man.
no 50 degrees is closer
Kerola is spelled Kerala. Kerala is approximately 10 degrees 50 minutes north of the equator.
It is 50 degrees North of the Equator and 30 degrees East of the Greenwich Meridian.
The Northern most point in Spain is at North latitude 43 degrees 47 minutes. That is very close to the latitude of Saginaw MI. The Southern most point in mainland Spain is North 36 degrees 00 minutes. That is about the same Latitude as Knoxville TN. The ABSOLUTE most Southern point of the country is located in the Canary Islands in the Atlantic Ocean. It is at North 27 degrees 38 minutes. That is about the same latitude as Tampa FL. Here is a question for you. What are the Northern most, Southern most, Eastern most, and Western most states of all 50 states in the U.S. Answer: Hawaii is the Southern most state. Alaska is the Northern most, Western most, AND EASTERN most of the 50 states. Look at a map. Alaska crosses the 180th meridian. That puts it in BOTH the eastern and western hemispehers.
The 50th parallel south is 50 degrees south of the equator. It crosses the Atlantic, Pacific, ad Indian Ocean as well as South America.
No
New York City is located at 40.7128° N, The Equator at 0°, and the North Pole at 90° N, the South Pole at 90° S. New York City is about 50 degrees from the North Pole, about 40 degrees from the Equator, and 130 degrees from the South Pole.
It is 50 degrees North of the Equator and 30 degrees East of the Greenwich Meridian.

Mexico. The southern part of Mexico is nearer to the equator than the Bahamas, although some of it is further from the equator than the Bahamas.
the earth buldges around the equator due to centrifugal forcing (like an oval) the source of the river is closer to the center of the earth because it is farther north and its mouth is at the equator. draw a diagram of an oval and vectors from the equator and 50*N and you can see this clearly (exagerated as it may be)
If you mean how many of the United States of America, then the answer is all of them are north of the equator. All 50 states in the United States are north of the equator. The state of Hawaii is closest but is still several degrees north.
The 0 degrees is the planet Earth equator. The 50 degrees is the parallel [geographic latitude] that crosses several countries but the most importand is Belgium where the capital of EU is located

The earth is almost spherical. So if you travel north from the equator you are on a circular path (a line of longitude), and distance around a circle is measured in degrees. The north pole is at 90 degrees north (so 60 degrees is two thirse the way). Similarly if you travel east, you are going around a circle parallel to the equator. Zero degrees is traditionally at Greenwich in London, England. So 50 degrees east is 50 degrees around this circle (of latitude). All lines of longitude meet at the poles. All lines of latitude are parallel to the equator (which is zero latitude).
If you were on the Equator you would see all of them. Otherwise it depends where you live. I live in New Zealand at latitude 35° S. So I can't see any northern stars closer than 35° to the North Celestial Pole. If you live in the north at say 35°N, then you wouldn't see those stars which are closer than 35° to the South Celestial Pole.
50 degrees c is warmer than 80 degrees f
50 - 20 = 30 degrees 20 is (30) less than 50 and 50 is (30) more than 20 hence difference is 30.
