It might be. Be careful with any email you receive, especially unsolicited emails. If an email claims to be from GMail, that doesn't ensure it really is. A common trick used by scammers is to write in the name of a legitimate business - but then direct you to a website which might look similar to the legitimate website, or at have an address that is similar, but not identical.
I think it's a scam. I have tried to download it from hundreds of different sites and all I download are trojans.
dude, its a scam
Email scam is an unsolicited email that claims the prospect of a bargain or something for nothing.
A phishing scam typically has three main parts: The Bait – A fraudulent message (email, text, call, or social media post) that looks like it comes from a trusted source such as a bank, employer, or service provider. The Hook – A malicious link, attachment, or request designed to trick the victim into taking action, like entering login credentials, downloading malware, or making a payment. The Capture – Once the victim responds, attackers steal sensitive data (passwords, financial details, or personal information) or gain access to systems for further exploitation. Phishing works by combining deception, urgency, and trust to manipulate victims into handing over valuable information.
Gmail: Put a checkmark next to the email you would like to report, then click on the "report spam" button.Hotmail: Put a checkmark on the email you would like to report, click on the drop-down menu that says "Mark As", then in the drop-down menu select "Phishing Scam".Yahoo Mail: Put a checkmark on the email you would like to report, click up at top where it says "Spam".Note: These are all using the web-clients, other web clients and offline clients might have similar features that allow you to put a checkmark and report as spam or phishing scam.
Nearly everyone who has email has gotten such an email.
Yes it is a big scam. Just a note: I received an email from a friend telling me to go to the website of Home Revenue System. But this email was a scam itself. My friend never sent me this link.
A fake email represents the bait in a phishing scam. Potential victims are lured into the scam with an email that threatens a breach in security or some kind of reward for replying to the email and providing personal information.A bait part would be what draws you in. Say if you have the usual email. "My relative died and I want to give you money for no reason", that is the bait
Yes they are.
Phishing
When you mark an email as a phishing scam in Hotmail, it disappears because it gets forwarded to Microsoft for review.
I personally feel that it is not a scam. However when you receive such kinds of mails just be a little careful.
