No, that statement is not true. But that doesn't mean that if you're terrible at

writing then you WILL be an engineer. It just means that there's no connection.

I have made my living as an engineer for slightly more than 40 years, and I can

tell you, from my observations and experience, that anything on the spectrum

from functional illiteracy to world-class prose can propel a person into a career

as an engineer.
