On a 97 astro 4.3 all the coolant lines are ran into some type of plastic PVC air activated contraption any idea what this contraption is called?

I have a 2000 Astro and the lines go into a plastic body valve I believe that this is vacuum switched when you turn on the controls to let the water flow through the line. In mine this only happens on the rear heat.
