let x be the number of weeks savings have been done; then:
For you: account contains 50 + 10x
For friend: account contains 20 + 15x
These are equal when:
20 + 15x = 50 + 10x
→ 15x - 10x = 50 - 20
→ 5x = 30
→ x = 6
Therefore after 6 weeks you will have: $50 + $10 x 6 = $$50 + $60 = 110;
and your friend will have: $20 + $15 x 6 = $20 + $90 = $110;
You both have the same amount.
