2. That the "area" in question is if the tube was sliced from top to bottom and laid out flat, forming an oblong shape..... (therefore not the volume of the tube)
The area is the circumference of the tube x the length of the tube.
Circumference = 24" x pi = 24 x 3.14159 = 75.40" (1.915 m)
Length of tube = 12 m
Therefore metric area of tube = 1.915 x 12 = 22. 98 sq. m
Or in Imperial:
75.4 divided by 12 = 6.28 ft.
12m converted to feet = 39.37 ft.
Area of tube = 6.28 x 39.37 = 247.24 sq. ft.
