(2n+4) x 90 degrees, where n is the number of nodes.

eg

Total external angle of an octogon:

=((2x8)+4) x 90

=(16+4) x 90

=20 x 90

=1800 degrees.

Each node has an external angle of 1800/8 = 225deg.

Incidentally, the total internal angle for any polygon is (2n-4)x90
