If there are 15 leaves on a stem-and-leaf plot how many values are in the data set?

Ask the math teacher

What is Data that has infinitely many possible values that correspond to a scale that covers a range of values without gaps interruptions or jumps?

It can be data over any single interval in the set of real numbers.

What is the significance of the median value for a set of data?

It is halfway along the distribution of set values. There are as many members of the set with values smaller than the median as there are with values bigger than it.

A set of 1000 values has a normal distribution the mean of the data is 120 and the standard deviation is 20 how many values are within one standard deviaiton from the mean?

The Empirical Rule states that 68% of the data falls within 1 standard deviation from the mean. Since 1000 data values are given, take .68*1000 and you have 680 values are within 1 standard deviation from the mean.

What are the differences of a stem and leaf plot and a frequency table?

basically both are part of mathematics's data handling section .They both help us to arrange a large amount of data into data that we can easily refer to ,just like graphs. In a stem and leaf diagram categorises data that are similar for eg. 10 to 19 ,you will therefore in your diagram under put 1 which represents 10 in the stem column and 9 under the leaf column as 9 is not a tenth digit. In the frequency table we use it count how many values of the set digits lie on that particular range . Both these two graphs help us to represent information that will help us to find the measures of central tendency and of dispersion.
