In 2-dimensional space they must be parallel. In 3-d space they be parallel or skew lines I believe.

What do parallel lines that are coplanar do not do?

They do not cross. Lines that are parallel go in the same direction, but some distance apart. Coplanar means they are in the same horizontal plane. Therefore the two lines can never cross each other.

What does parrelel mean?

Parallel means lines (may it be bars, pencils, etc.) that go on forever and never cross.

What does the word parallel mean in maths?

Parallel in maths means opposite. Two parallel lines can never touch. I you are not sure if two lines are parallel then imagine that these lines go on for ever, will they eventually cross?

What two different biconditionals about parallelograms?

Bi conditional for a parallelogram are the lines must go on forever in both directions and never cross each other.

What is a parallel thing?

2 things running beside each other, that will never cross no matter which way you go. For example, the top and bottom lines of a square. These 2 lines can extend infinitely in either direction and never intersect, therefore, they are parallel.

What are straight lines crossing over each other called?

Intersecting Lines. Two lines next to each other but go straight and never meet are called parallel lines. Perpendicular is when two lines cross right into the middle and makes 4 right angles (90 degrees). you!! :)

Do parallel lines go on forever?

No, But 1 Dimensional Does. The lines may or may not go on forever but that has no effect on whether or not a parallel line will cross.

Do parallel lines have the same slope?

Yes, parallel lines have the same slope. Parallel means that the lines go on forever and never cross - so, you could practically put one line on top of the other and it would have the same slope (how much it rises in relation to how far over it goes). The only difference between two lines that are parallel is their y-intercept (where they cross the y-axis).

What is parallel line in math?

two straight lines that will never intersect. ex. ___________ _____________ the lines go straight and never met.

Will perpendicular lines on the the same plane ever touch?

Yes, two perpendicular coplanar lines will touch. If you have two lines that, by definition, form a 90 degree angle (i.e., they are perpendicular) and are both on the same plane, eventually they must cross at some point on that plane. They will have exactly one point in common. If, however, the lines were, by definition, "perpendicular skew" lines, they would never cross because the definition forbids it.

What is what is lines that go side to side called?

Lines that go side to side, but never touch, are known as parallel lines. The two railway lines on which a train runs along is a common example of parallel lines.

What are the three relationships for two straight lines in the same plane?

Well, there are really only two: parallel and intersecting. Parallel lines go in the same direction and never cross; intersecting lines do cross (or intersect). However, a third relationship, that's actually a special case of intersecting lines, is the case of perpendicular lines. Perpendicular lines are those that make four right angles when they intersect. Really, it's enough if you know that only one of the angles is a right angle - the rest follow automatically.
