355/113 (3.141529) is better than 22/7 (3.142857)
The only one that I am aware of is the greek letter pi: π. There are many approximations, such as 3.14 or 3.14159 or 22/7. There are many functions whose solutions involve pi and so can be used to calculate pi. There are also many infinite series that converge to pi or some function of pi. Some are given in the attached link. However, these are all approximations to pi.
The pi decimal is 3.14 and the fraction is 22/7
3.14 and 3.14159 are two commonly used decimal approximations. In ratio form, 22/7 is often used.
Pi is a unique ratio - therefore there is no exact equivalent. A couple of rough approximations are 22/7 and 25/8.thanks
There are lots of approximations for pi. The most common are: 3.14 about 0.05% low 22/7 about 0.04% high 355/113 about 0.0000849% high
Pi equals the circumference of a circle divided by it's diameter. This value is approximately 3.14159265359, but goes on indefinitely. For most sums 3.14 is acceptable, or just use the pi button on a scientific calculator.
The earliest known textually evidenced approximations of PI date from around 1900 BC. They are found in the Egyptian Rhind Papyrus.
22/7 is the most commonly used (non-decimal) fractional approximation of piHere is are some more precise approximations listed in order of precision) 3123/994 , accurate to 3 decimal places) 2199/700 , accurate to 3 decimal places) 311/99 , accurate to 3 decimal places) 355/113, accurate to 6 decimal places) 180 / (57.295777777777777...) , accurate to 7 decimal places) (9.42477777777...) / 3 , accurate to 7 decimal places.here is the 32 digit decimal approximation3.1415926535897932384626433832795"

All irrational numbers are approximations. Thus PI and the decimal notation for one third (1/3) are both approximations. Note that the fraction 1/3 is not an approximation, it is precise, but it is not possible to notate precisely using decimal notation because it extends into infinity (0.3333333333...).
circumference = pi x diameter; diameter = circumference/pi = 8/pipi is approximately 3.14You do the math if you want an approximation(There is no rational answer to this question, only approximations.)
Common approximations are: 3.14, 22/7 and this one, correct to six places, 355/113 which gives 3.141593.
