My doctor prescribes antihisthamines (not sure on the spelling). However, I'm not convinced they work. I still suffer from a runny nose, sneezing, and watery, puffed-up eyes. The trick is to start using them BEFORE your symptoms start in March/April or whenever and you need to take them every day during the hay-fever season even if the pollen count forecast is low so you build up the anti-histamine level in your body for when it is high. If you want a natural remedy (and it's worked for many of my friends with bad Allergies and hay fever is INTRA. Just go onto www.Google.com and type in 'Intra products.' It is excellent for the immune system and you only have to put 3 - 4 drops in juice or even water. Another thing you should drink at least once a day is Pomegranate juice (from the health section of your grocery store) as it's a great antioxidant and also is great for the immune system.
