Symetry is when you draw a line down an object and both sides are exactly the same. There is radial symetry, which means you could cut an object like a Pizza pie and all the pieces would look exactly the same. Asymetry is the quality of not being able to draw a line on something and have both sides be the same. Squares, circles, rectangles and trapezoids all have lines of symetry. However, a trapezoid does not have a horozontal line of symetry!
