A mass extinction would require a very unlikely event such as a major cosmic collision.
Even the major extinction event that killed the dinosaurs 65,000,000 years ago left about 1/3 of all species intact. It might require something really, really big, like the collision that created the moon nearly 4,000,000,000 years ago. So, let's say 4 billion to one, at least for this year.
yes
no, you see them every where in the world with salt water
every 20 minutes.
check the red list. It has every animal going extinct on it. :]
just about every one. 90% of all creatures that have lived on earth are extinct.
No, if an animal is extinct it means every one of that species members have died.
There won't be any more animals.
there would only be plants
yeaaa every animal is important to the circle of life
When every last one of that species dies and there is no more left to breed
It largely depends on the species of crab you are talking about. There are some species which are already extinct and there are other species which you will see every time you go to any beach.
There are an estimated 20,000 species of plants and animals currently at risk of extinction due to human activities. Some of the plants already made extinct by humans are Archaefructus, Dillhoffia, and Sphenophyllum. Some animals extinct because of humans include Quagga, Thylacine, and Steller's Sea Cow.
