some may feel speed and velocity are same terms but both are diffrent, let seehow?

Speed=distance travelled/time,that means it depents on how much distance you travelled, its a scalar quantity that means it dont depents on the direction

velocity:it depents on diaplacement,ie;velocity=displacement/time,displacement is the measure of smallest distance between mean position and last, its a vecter quatity,so its value can be negetive,+ve,and may zero

What is speed the difference Between speed and velocity?

Speed is just a number; velocity includes information about the direction. In physical terms, speed is a scalar, whereas velocity is a vector.

What is the difference between speed and velocity speed?

Speed is just a number; velocity includes information about the direction. In physical terms, speed is a scalar, whereas velocity is a vector.

What is the difference is between speed and velocity?

Speed is just a number; velocity includes information about the direction. In physical terms, speed is a scalar, whereas velocity is a vector.

What is the difference between between speed and velocity?

Speed is just a magnitude (or number); velocity includes information about the direction as well. In physical terms, speed is a scalar, whereas velocity is a vector.

What two pieces of information is needed to make change?

Speed and velocity

What is the velocity if the distance is 700000 miles at a speed of 250000?

If the direction of motion is constant then the velocity is the same as the speed in that direction. If the direction is not constant, the information given is nowhere near sufficient to calculate the velocity.

Velocity provides information about what?

Velocity is a vector quantity, which means it is made up of more than one numeric value. Velocity vectors must contain information on speed and direction.

Which is correct speed of light or velocity of light?

They are both accurate but velocity gives more information as it is speed with a direction

What are the differences between speed and velocity?

Speed is distance divided by the time taken Velocity is distance in a particular direction divided by the time taken. Velocity is a vector quantity while speed is a scalar quantity. That means that velocity include information about the direction of movement, while speed does not.

The displacement covered by a body in unit time is called velocity?

No. It's called the 'speed' of the body. It's the size of the velocity, but it's not complete informationabout the velocity. If you also give the direction of the displacement, then that information, alongwith the speed, defines the velocity.

Can an object acceleration if its velocity is constant?

No. It is a matter of definition. Acceleration is defined as a change of velocity. Technically, one must distinguish between velocity and speed. Velocity is a vector and includes the information about the magnitude (speed)and direction. One can have a constant speed and an acceleration (as in circular motion) but, by definition, constant velocity means zero acceleration.

What are two pieces of information you need to know the velocity of an object?

Mass and speed.
