Don't get a major and there won't be essays.
Not writing essays should not be the decision point for choosing a major.
Pick a math major.
Mostly any major that has tons of mathematics in them like economics and engineering, other than that none.

In general, no matter what major you take, you need to do a lot of writing. However, it's mostly the humanities and social sciences that require a ton of writing(as well as sciences like biology, and biology related majors). The science, economics and engineering majors have less writing in them.
A good major would be in education. You could become a math teacher.

When attending an university, the main purpose is to obtain an education that will help the individual have a good career when they graduate and enter the job market. Generally speaking, most jobs in the public and private sectors will require writing reports, in writing, analyze potential projects and to communicate with people outside of a persons' company by writing. This could be via email or regular text. Therefore we see the reason for universities to have students do allot of writing. Whether for exam questions or writing assignments based on a particular subject.
