What are units based on?
Units are so say if you are doing maths you have hundreds tens and units. So they are based on like the smallest number out of them all if you was doing column addition say even if you might not be, then say if you had a number 187 the 1 would be the hundreds the 8 would be the tens and the seven would be the units so every time on a number even if it was 112222233758585848 the eight at the end would still be a unit so it doesn't matter if it is billions the end number is always the unit!
The Si are units that are based as number 10. This is a math problem.
A meter stick is based on units of ten (centimeters), while a yard stick is based on units of twelve (inches).
