What energy tranformations take place when the brake pedals are pressed?

Kinetic energy becomes heat by way of the friction caused by braking.

What is the howling sound when stepping on the brakes in reverse in a 2000 Honda accord?

If a 2000 Honda Accord is making a howling noise when the brakes are pressed the rotor may be the issue. When a brake rotor becomes warped the wheel will not stop smoothly, and in turn create several different noises.

What does it mean if truck starts to shake when gas pedal is pressed?

One reason that your truck might start to shake when the gas pedal is pressed is because the tires could need to be balanced. The problem could also be your shock absorbers, or struts. * It has less to do with the gas pedal as it has to do with parts affected by acceleration.

What causes vsc trak and vsc off light to stay on when brake pedal is pressed?

Both are indications of trouble within the braking system. That's what warning lights are for. You will need to take the vehicle to a shop or the dealer to get the problem diagnosed.

What is duo servo drum brakes?

Duo-servo type drum brakes are an improved version of twin leading construction, where two brake shoes are linked. When a primary side leading shoe is pressed against the drum by the wheel cylinder, the force that makes it rotate together with the drum wedges the secondary side leading shoe into the drum to achieve braking action. This type of drum brake provides strong braking for both forward and reverse movement. It is used in commercial vehicles that require especially large braking forces.

Is the wheel bearing on a 2000 Chevy venture pressed in?

Hi, The wheel bearing is not really pressed in, but it is 'integrated' into the hub assembly. This is because the hub assemblies on these vans also contain wheel speed sensors that are used by the anti-lock braking system (ABS). Bottom line - if the wheel bearings start to go bad, the whole hub assembly has to be replaced. Good Luck, Greg

A dragster started from rest and covered the flying 400m in 3.8s. It reached a final speed of 210m per s.Calculate the average acceleration?

Initial speed = zeroFinal speed = 210 m/sTime = 3.8 secondsAverage acceleration = (change in speed) divided by (time for the change)= 210/3.8= 55.26 m/s2 (rounded)Note: The driver was pressed back into his seat pretty good by this acceleration of 5.64 G's !

Are rotors on a 1995 Saturn pressed on?

No, they are not pressed on.

How do you calculate inertia?

Inertia is the resistance of any object (in a physical state) to change pressed upon its current movement. It can be found by the Formula F=ma.F being force in relation to inertia, M being Mass, A is Acceleration.

How do Antilock braking system work?

braking force is applied intermittently so the pads are pressed against the disc - then released to let the wheel turn - giving you full control. If it was a straight press and hold - the wheel would lock and you would skid, uncontrolled, to a halt. By the way this happens about 45 times a second, so technically, yes - it would be quicker to stop with a constant force, but the saftey aspect of not skidding overcomes the difference.
