Newton's Law of Inertia was discovered in part by Descartes. Newton concluded that an object at rest tends to stay at rest and an object in motion tends to stay in motion. Descartes discovered earlier that objects in motion continued in a straight line in motion.

Can you add moments of inertia?

No, you can't just add them. The calculation is usually more involved.

When is a body said to be at rest?

'An object said to be at rest when it is not in motion'.The above statement has been proved by Newton's First Law of Motion (Law Of Inertia) , it says When a body is at rest it tends to be at rest and when a body is inmotion it tends to be in motion until an external force is applied on it.

If the mass of a cart full of groceries decreases to half and its speed doubles what happens to the momentum of the cart?

if you add more weight or mass to any thing, it will incease its momentum. lets say you are grocery shopping and you add 5 bags of cat liter to your cart. inertia will increase and your momentum will increase. it easy, just picture it in you head. your welcome!!!!

What are the Methods used in adding and subtracting vectors?

Triangle law of vectors or parallelogram law of vectors. Just while subtracting change the direction of the vector which is to be subtracted and add along with the one from which it is to be subtracted. Just as we change the sign and add in case of subtraction of numbers. Answer2: Vectors are added and subtracted by component. A=a1 + a2 and B=b1 + b2 then C = A + B = (a1 + b1) + (a2 + b2) = c1 + c2 .

What is the application of kirchoff's law?

Kirchoff's current law states that the signed sum of the currents in a series circuit add up to zero. Stated another way, the current at every point in a series circuit is the same. This law can be used, along with Kichoff's voltage law, Ohm's law, Norton and Thevanin equivalents, and other transformations to analyze various circuits.A specific example of Kirchoff's current law is the analysis of a transistor. If you know the current through the collector or emitter resistor, you can assume (within reasonable limits) that the current through the other resistor is the same. (The "limits" have to do with the contribution from the base current, but that is generally negligible)

Does regulatory law add clarity to statutory law?

It can.

What Most directly affects mass?

Inertia. All mass, all of it, is affected by its own inertia. Because mass has inertia it takes force applied over time to change the velocity of that mass. Which is to say to change its speed, its direction, or both. And that has practical implications. If you want your car to start moving you need to add force to pushing it to overcome the car's inertia and get it accelerating for example. Or if you are going down one street and want to turn left onto another street you must add force to make that turn because, otherwise, the cor would go straight because of its inertia.

Who are the great mathematicians and their contributions in analytic geometry?

Analytical geometry was founded by the French mathematician, Renee Descartes. As for subsequent contributors to that subject, I will leave that for other contributors to add.

How does inertia apply to motocross?

There are lots of ways inertia is applied to motocross. I will start this off, add things as you think of them. First off, the definition of inertia is the resistance of an object to a change in its state of motion. (1) A heavier flywheel carries speed farther, but is also harder to slow down than a light one.
