I looked in the rear view mirror. He is hiding in the rear of the house.Stop staring at my rear.
drive line vibration could mean one of several things, none of them will end well if you do not fix the problem.1-the drive shaft could be out of balance due to bottoming out or somehow getting damaged.2-the swing bearing cushion that is in the middle of the two piece drive shaft could be torn or damaged.3-the gears in the rear differential could be damaged or you could need to add fluid.I hope this helps, if not i would let a mechanic look at it, but do not drive it for long with drive line vibration, you could seriously damage parts of your z.

Broken gears. The differential or ring gear or pinion gears are broken.
They Are Used In Engines And Other Vehicles, I Think. We Are Studying This In Gateway Tech. Crown and Pinion usually refers to the main gears in a vehicles differential. Older rear wheel drive cars and trucks typically have a rear axle that is driven by the engine. That axle contains a differential, that contains the Crown and Pinion gears. The gears are used to change the direction the engine is rotating the crankshaft; to a rotating direction in the axle.
Probably have problems with the pinion bearings, carrier bearings and or ring and pinion gears inside the rear differential.
The # of teeth on the ring gear and the pinion gear. There is always more teeth on the ring gear then the pinion gear. And the way you determine the gear ratio is devide the # of teeth that's on the pinion gear into the # of teeth that's on the ring gear and that will be the gear ratio. The 4 gears that are the same size and run together is called the spider gears. Do not count those gears they have nothing to do with the gear RATIO.
You can change the rear end of a 1988 Suzuki Samurai to Posi-trac by opening the differential and removing the existing ring and pinion gears. The Posi-trac assembly is then install and the gears put back in place.
Are you talking about the ring and pinion gears in the rear end aka the differential? If this is the case I would suggest you find a qualified person to do this work if these gears are not properly installed and shimed you could cause harm not only to the rear end but to yourself and others if it flys apart. , EzForJesus
It should come with 273 or 308 gears in a ten bolt 8.5 ring and pinion.
Preload is the amount the pinion bearings are squeezed together by the pinion nut.
Axle grease is used for the axle bearings that support the axle shafts. Rear end fluid also known as gear oil which is used in the rear differential to lube the ring and pinion gears.
I have a 99 1500 had a loud "humming noise" going down the road. after extensive tests and trouble shooting, i found the rear pinion gears were shot. If you can do it safely remove the rear drive shaft plug the hole in the differential, and drive the truck in 4 wheel drive for a short distance if the noise goes away, it is probably the gears in the rear diff.
What is the torque specs on a 2001 ford truck rear end pinion nut..
It sounds like the pinion nut is not tight enough and the pinion is now moving in and out. This will do bad damage to ring and pinion. You will need to replace crush sleeve in rear end now.
