The IEEE 1394 Standard AKA Firewire connectors and sockets look like thishttp://www.soe.purdue.edu/edit/connectors/firewire_card_connectors.JPG
The sockets are standard sockets, just like any ratchet wrench. It's the handle that's special, with some type of gauge to indicate how hard you're twisting it.
Check to make sure sockets are not corroded Check to see if sockets have power and ground Could be a bad headlight switch

Fiji water is not cheaper than store brand water unless there is a sale on Fiji water. If you prefer Fiji water you should look for sales on the product.
I would look for wiring issues. For starters check the ground at the tail light bulb sockets. Also check to see if there is power at the various sockets. If there is no power at the sockets check the body feed wire from the battery to see if there is power there. Also check to see if the main harness to the tail lights has become severed at some point. Hope that may help. Anyone else have any other thoughts?
