Mass is the measure of the amount of material in the object being directly related to the number and type of atoms present in the object. Mass does not change with the body's position, movement or alteration of its shape unless material is added or removed.

The weight of the object is the force of gravity on the object and may be defined as the mass times the acceleration of gravity. Since the weight is a force, density is mass/volume.

If an object has a mass of 1kg on Earth is would have a mass of 1kg on the moon even though it would weigh 1/6th. as much.

Mass is inertial property

Does mass have mass?

Yes, mass has mass. It is, therefore, matter. If mass did not have mass, then it is "something" with no mass. That would make it "non-matter" and perhaps it might be energy.

What is the relationship between center of mass and mass distribution?

The center of mass is the point where an object's mass is considered to be concentrated. The mass distribution refers to how the mass is distributed within the object. The position of the center of mass depends on the mass distribution of the object.

Is the mass number and the atomic mass the same?

No, the Atomic Mass is the full complete mass while the mass # is just the whole number. For example: carbon's atomis mass is 12.011 and the mass # is 12.
