'am/pm ' is the initials of the Latin phrase ' Ante/Post Meridian' , meaning 'before/after noon'.

So as an example 8:15 am would be written as ' 0815 ' in digital time

However, 7:30 pm would be written as ' 1930 ' in digital time

Midnight does NOT have a digital time, because it can be confused with ' 0000 / 2400 '. Organisations such as railroads or airlines NEVER use this time.

The latest digital time on any given day is ' 2359 ' , which is 11:59 pm .

The earliest digital time on any given day is ' 0001 ' , which is '12:01 am '.

So if you have a digital watch, it will show the time as the 24 hour clock.
