No, a person who is good at math will have the best chance of doing well in physics.

It really depends. If you are good at understanding the concepts of math and you think you can grasp the concepts of physics (which is not bad at all), then you will do fine in physics. Physics is like 50% math 50% concepts. This is my second year of physics (I am doing Physics with Calculus now) and it really isn't as bad as most people think.

Mathematics is the language of physics. You cannot do well in physics unless you can handle the math. If you are excellent at math, you have a better chance of being very good or excellent in physics, too.

I am currently doing Applied physics in College. In my particular college, applied physics is coursework based, there are no exams whereas for Physics, there are.Applied physics, at my college, involves a lot of practical work and stems into fields of Biology and Chemistry alongside Physics, focusing on all three for a first year during a National Diploma course, and only physics during the second year.Generally, Applied Physics refers to the use of physics; how it is used in various fields eg engineering. Whereas, Physics or sometimes called Pure Physics can be more theoretical, new research, new areas to explore.The work being done at CERN in Europe, the large hadron collider where atomic particles are being collided would be Physics. The two fields will largely overlap and the discoveries made in Physics will leak into Applied Physics.

I'm no expert, but as I understand it, Chemistry has to do with atoms gaining and losing electrons etc. You can change the characteristics of an atom by doing so or create compounds etc. On the other hand, when you start making one element into another, then you start to leave the realm of chemistry and approach Nuclear physics. Of course there are Nuclear chemists trying to arrange the protons, neutrons, and electrons into stable configurations for those (non-naturally on earth occuring) missing elements on the periodic table. But generally when you smash atoms like in an Atomic bomb, you are not doing chemistry, it's something else. Math is not chemistry although chemistry uses math, same for physics. Hope this helps.
