For an integer x to be evenly divisible by another integer y, x/y must also be an integer. Here are some examples:

4/2=2.

15/3=5.

18/6=3.

From these examples, you can see that 4 is divisible by 2, 15 is divisible by 3, and 18 is divisible by 6.

When two numbers are not evenly divisible by each other, you end up with a remainder, or fractional/decimal answer. Here is an example:
