An integer X is said to be divisible by another integer Y (not = 0) if Y divides X evenly: a whole number of times without remainder.

Another way of putting it is that X = nY where n is an integer.

The concept does not make any sense for fractional numbers since any fraction is divisible by every non-zero fraction.
