1/4 + 1/3 equals 7/12

Look Below To Learn How To Figure It Out:

Step 1: 1/4 + 1/3- you have to change the two denominators (bottom number) to be the same (change to the the first factor they have in common)

Step 2: You change the denominators to 12 (or any factor they have in common, 12 is the least one, so im using that one) so it becomes 3/12 and 4/12 (the numerators (top number) have change because when you multiply the 4 or 3 in 1/4 and 1/3 by either 3 or 4 to get 12 as the denominator you have to multiply the same to the top)

Step 3: Add the top numbers. 3/12 and 4/12 become 7/12

(Since you can't simplify 7/12 anymore then that is your answer)
