What does x-7 and x plus 8 equal?

(x - 7) equals the number that is 7 less than whatever 'x' is,

and (x + 8) equals the number that is 8 more than whatever 'x' is.

You may have wanted us to do something with both quantities, (x-7) and

(x+8), but if so, we can't identify what it was. "And" is not a mathematical

procedure.
