In low voltage wires, the insulation factor of the coating determines the wire's voltage rating. A wire coating of cross linked poly vinyl is used as an insulation. High voltage transmission wires uses no coating on the wire
This type of compressor uses a special drive to control The speed of the unit. Also, saves more energy than a fixed speed equivalent.

Welding Electrorodes or Welding Rods are used in arc welding. Arc welding is a special type of welding which uses a welding power supply to create an electric arc between the base material (e.g. steel) and the electrode. The Welding Ectrorodes can be used for all weldable aluminum and mild steel.
I've never heard of a meggameter. However, since the question is under the heading of Electrical Troubleshooting, I'm assuming that you are referring to a megohmmeter. A megohmmeter is a testing device that measures the resistance of insulators and insulation of electrical conductors. Since their resistance is generally very high, this device uses a voltage between 500 and 2000 volts at a fixed current. This combination can detect minute pinhole leaks in conductors that are not visible to the human eye. These pinhole leaks can cause arcing and eventually an electrical short.

Without insulation the object would be completely useless
An insulation material is one which separates one region from another. Common uses would be electrical insulation, thermal insulation, and acoustic insulation.
Rock wool is used for lost insulation It could also be used for sound insulation

Insulation from heat/cold/concussive shock & also drinking cups, floatation devices & insulation.
A house uses insulation to keep you warm in the winter. Insulation is also used in carpet to keep your floors warm.
