What do i need to make 2008 Corvette rims fit a 1985 Corvette?
They have the same bolt pattern and hob center, the problem is the width and back spacing. The 2008 8.5x19" rims 1/2inch wider in the front with a 42mm offset. The rear 10x19" rims are 2 inches wider with a 54mm offset vs. only 30mm for the 1985 8x16" rims. The rear rims will be 2 inches closer to the frame, you need about 1 inch of clearance. In the front the rims will be an inch closer to the frame than stock. You need to measure, but I would say they would rub. I know spacers are sold usually upto about 1/2ich thick, I don't not recommend them since they usually require longer wheel studs and put undue stress on the wheel studs(not safe, IMHO). They also change suspension geometry and wheel to fender lip clearance. The other way would be getting custom front suspension that would make the rims not worth it. It would be best to buy rims with the same look, but with the correct backspacing/offset.
