In word problems, 'of' usually means multiply. percent means 'per hundred'. Think of there are 100 'cents' in a dollar. If you cut a penny in half then take 3.5 cents, that is 3.5 percent of one dollar. or $0.035

so 3.5 % = 0.035

Multiply by 5022, 0.035 * 5022 = 175.77
