You can find one fifth of 15000 by dividing it by 5 - 15000 * (1/5) = (15000*1) / 5 = 15000 / 5 = 3000 Then to get three fifths, you multiply that fifth by three - 3000 * 3 = 9000 You can do this all in one step though by just looking at it this way - 15000 * (3/5) = (15000 * 3) / 5 = (15000 / 5) * 3 These are all equivalent and you should be able to see that the last term there is the same as squishing the first two steps, into one term.
