Note that I have prefixed integer numbers with zeros and that does not change their value. Because of the shortcomings of the editor we are using I have to do this to align the numbers and show the results. First multiply 94 by 3 and write down the answer as 0283 (the leading zero shown here only for alignment). You then multiply 94 by 1, but recognize that the 1 in 13 represents 10's position. So force a zero on the very right (below the 3 in the first line) and then the result of the multiplication which is 94. Now add and you get the product. Remember, in integer numbers leading zeros are irrelevant but trailing zeros are very very relevant.
