32-9x=140

9x=108

x=12

Lvl 1

I think that is incorrect because 32-9(12) is not equal to 140. Supposed to include the negative sign or minus sign. The answer isn't 12, it's -12, I'm pretty sure.

32-9x=140

140-32=108

Rewrite the problem as:

-9x=108

Don't forget the minus/negative sign that goes with the 9.

Use the inverse operation.

108/-9=-12

x=-12

Check your work:

32-9(-12)=140

-9*12=-108

32+108

140=140- The answer is x=-12.

Lvl 2

32 - 9x = 140

you the would subtract 32 from 140

also you have to blip blip the 9x to make it -9x

-9x = 108

then you have to divide -9 from 108

108/-9

x = -12

then you check your work:

32 - 9(-12) = 140

-9(-12) = 108

32 + 108 = 140

140 = 140 ✅
