The answer is there is no such thing as a size 24 in British shoe sizes. Shoe sizes in UK shops are in fact based on the length of the last and measured in a unit called the barleycorn equalling one third of an inch. But believe me I have never heard of any shop in the UK that would stock or sell a shoe size over size 13 never mind sizes over 20, because no such shoe sizes have ever been mde in history of mankind.

If you go into any shop that sells shoes anywhere in the UK the longest size in any brand or style of shoes they could sell is size thirteen meaning that pair of shoes will be seven and a half inches. There is just no shoe size longer than that sold anywhere for the very simple reason no human being in the world has feet longer than that anywhere on Earth. The vast majority of adult humans on Earth have feet of between five and seven inches.

Okay, there are extremely rare exceptions. In fact, the human with the longest feet in the entire world alive today is a Moroccan male called Brahim Takioullah whose left foot measures 1 foot 3 inches length and his right foot measures 1foot 2.76 inches. The largest human feet ever recorded on Earth belonged to an American guy called Robert Wadlow. He died in 1940. His feet measured an incredible 1 foot 5 inches - over two inches longer than Brahim Takioullah's feet. But believe me there is no shoe shop on sale anywhere in the UK today that stocks shoes that would fit either of these gentlemen's unique feet, their shoes needing to be specially made for them by specialist factory exclusively for them and would never fit anyone else on Planet Earth.
